Day 1: Transit to Rasog Bidge and Cross Border

Our staff in Kathmandu will pick you up from your hotel at 09:00 and drive to Kyirong border. Cross the border around lunch time and drive more 24km to Gyirong town.

Day 2: Kyirung to Everest Base Camp 7hours

We will drive through beautiful landscapes along the Himalaya range to Rongpuk, the highest monastery in the world. You can have a glimpse of 4 mountains which are 8000m high or more, that is, Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Everes (8848m), Mt. Qowo O-ya (8201m) and Mt Magalu (8463m)

Day 3: Explore Mt. Everest with Sunrise. Drive to Shigatse Early Lunch Time 360km

The day starts early in the morning, so we can enjoy the sunrise over the top of Mt. Everest. Then take the ECO-BUS to and from Mt. Everest Base Camp (4km). After an enough exploration, we will then take our own vehicle and set out for Shigatse, but not before having lunch at Rongphu.

Day 4: Shigatse - Gyantse - Karola glacier - Yamdrok Lake - Lhasa. 361kms. APPX. 6 hours

Shigatse is the second largest city in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) and there is one of the largest Gelug-pa sect monasteries, Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. We will visit here in the morning.

In the Monastery, you can see the well-preserved largest statue of Jampa (future god) in the world. The Tashi Lhunpo monastery itself is abiding place for the successive Penchen Lamas.

Then, you will travel from Shigtse to Lhasa via Gyantse town, Karola glacier, Yamdrok Lake (one of Tibet’s holiest and most beautiful lakes.) We will visit the massive hilltop military fort and Pelkor Chode Monastery in Gyamtse, which has the tallest Tibetan Buddhist stupa in Tibet.

Day 5: Tour to Drepung and Sera monasteries

After breakfast, we will visit Drepung Monastery, which is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once the home of 10000 monks and Ganden Podrang in Drepung is famous for it was the administrative center during fifth Dalai Lama and later moved to Potala palace.

After having lunch, continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa’s disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is its Buddhist monk’s debating held in the courtyard.

Day 6: Tour to Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street

In the morning, you will visit the Potala Palace which is built in 7th century and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels in the morning.

After lunch, pay a visit to the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during king Songtsen Gonpo’s reign by princess Wencheng and its famous Barkor Kora, where you can buy or appreciate traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and tradition Tibetan clothes etc.

Day 7: Departure
